Two men, Joseph Guedri and Charles Milheiser, started Northside Electric in
1937 in a small shop on Brookland Park Boulevard. After eight years of quick
growth, they moved their operation to 713 W. Broad Street, where they remained
for the next forty-two years. Mr. Guedri died in 1968 and his son, Bootsie, took
his place. Likewise, in 1979, Mr. Milheiser died and was replaced by his
son-in-law, Bobby Rosenbaum. Boots and Bobby continued the business and it grew
even more.
During Northside's 50th year in business, a new and larger facility was
desperately needed. One was built and is now the current location at 2150
Magnolia Street.
Upon the retirements of Bootsie and Bobby in 1992 and 1995 respectively, Boots'
sons Chuck and Matt now are continuing Northside's great tradition.
